Spike Carter

Spike died in my arms on Monday morning. I am completely devastated. I miss him so much that I can hardly breathe. He was 16 and had been treated by Dr. Campos in the last year for CHF. I knew that his time was growing short. He stopped eating over the weekend and was so weak. I tried to give him water with a syringe but he couldn't even tolerate that. I was getting ready to bring him in to the office to help him cross over because I knew that this was the end. I guess Spike knew that this was going to be hard for me to do and so he died in my arms before I could get him there. I want to thank everyone who helped take care of Spike this past year. Especially Dr. Campos who is the most compassionate, caring vet I have ever met. He kept Spike alive longer than we thought and I cherished every minute with him. I can't believe how much I hurt. I find comfort in the Rainbow Bridge Poem and I believe that Spike is there and he is able to see and he has his teeth and a good strong heart and I will meet him there someday.  Thanks again for everything.

                                                                                          God Bless You,
                                                                                                 Donna Carter
Dear Dr. Campos and Staff,
I just wanted to write you again. I want to thank you for the flowers you sent after Spike passed away. I also wanted to include a picture of him for your web site. Spike passed away on October  20th 2008.  He was a great dog and my best friend. What I miss the most is his little happy dance that he would do whenever I came home. Even though he couldn't see very well near the end he always recognized my voice and he would dance around in circles until I picked him up. I want to let everyone know that I am better now. The pain does get less with time. I still miss him every day but I am able to carry on. It helps that I believe that I will see him again one day. I just want to thank everyone who helped care for Spike during his life. Everyone at Country Oaks Animal Hospital is caring and they all love animals so much. Special thanks to Dr. Campos who through his expertise gave me another year with my baby. Spike you had  me wrapped around your tail and I will miss you. Until we meet again. Goodbye my friend. Love Donna

Precious Wolf

She came from a long line of Scottish terriers in Kansas born Jan. 8, 1996- Jan. 20, 2006 she past at 2:00 A.M. in my arms she had woke me as she had done in the past when she was frightened. Her parents were show dogs and I took her away from that to be a regular family pet. She loved cats and cookies and doggie ice cream, and late days in bed. She was not a dog but my little fur baby my sons little sister.

Precious came to Country Oaks Animal Hospital 2004 I believe In May of that year she had to have surgery on her toe due to a injury of the nail she came through that with flying colors and recovery quickly. Thanks to the staff of Country Oaks and all the love she received at  home she recovery without a problem. She frequently had bouts with skin allergies that we had to fight with medication through out her entire life. If that was not hard enough on this sweet little animal one Sunday morning August 20, 2005 she came to the breakfast table as usual to beg for bacon an after she got her fill she walked off no one thought much about that an my son found her about 10 minutes later huddled in the bathroom floor not responding to her name barely able to walk I though she might have had a stroke we rushed her to the emergency vet where they kept her over night to watch her vitals she had pneumonia, congested heart failure, and a mass in her chest that we later found to be cancer. I was told to take her home an give her love an comfort. This is exactly what I done an I was given the next 5 months exactly to the day January 20, 2006  to hug and kiss and treasures every moment with her until she past in my arms that night. In loving memory of Precious she is a member of our family that will be dearly missed.

We wanted to thank you for all your wonderful care with Jake during his battle with cancer. Unfortunately Jake lost his battle on September 2, 2007. Our family is not the same without his cute little face and loving personality. We miss him so much.
