Karina Mercado
Veterinary Technician Assistant
Karina Mercado joined the Country Oaks team in 2024, bringing with her a lifelong love of animals and a deep passion for veterinary care. Raised in Florida, Karina was inspired early on by her great-uncle, a veterinarian who owns a clinic in Colombia. From high school veterinary programs to earning her Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA) through the FVMA in 2022, she has always followed her calling with heart and determination. She’s also Fear Free Certified and committed to creating stress-free experiences for pets.
At home, Karina cares for a lively crew that includes two Chihuahuas, Sonic and Chloe, a cat named Mike, and a bearded dragon named Kevin. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll often find her exploring the outdoors, relaxing to music, or spending time with her pets and loved ones. Karina hopes to continue growing in the veterinary field and eventually find her place as a veterinary technician.
